Director, Tax and Customs Office/Ministry of Economy and Finance
Moonkyun Cho is a Director at the Tax and Customs Office of the Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance (MOEF). She previously worked as an attorney at Hwang Mok Park P.C.. For over 17 years at the Ministry, she has focused on designing and implementing tax policies, both domestic and international. Recently, her main interest has been international tax policy, and she led the Digital Tax Team to participate in and respond to international discussions on digital tax led by OECD/G20 Inclusive Framework. She also spend a year as a tax-specialized judicial researcher at the Supreme Court of Korea. Currently, she heads the International Tax Cooperation Team, responsible for bilateral and multilateral tax cooperation, including tax treaties. Her expertise and dedication contribute to the development of effective tax framework and international cooperation.
Moonkyun is a member of the Korean bar, with an LL.B. from Seoul National University. She completed the LL.M. program at Seoul National University (Commercial Law/Tax Law), Stanford University (Corporate Governance and Finance), and New York University (International Taxation).
